It also depends on the type of skills you have & what you offer to the table. For someone with a technical background like coding or development, it might be easy to find a job. However, someone with skills like Project Management or HR might not be that easy as there is a lot of talent available in the UK. So if you think you have skills that are rare then definitely you have a better chance of getting a job in Scotland.

I have seen Indians & Asians mostly in technical roles in Scotland here if they are working in MNCs. Also, there are a lot of opportunities for care workers here and a lot of Asians take up care worker jobs aswell.

If you are going for a technical role then I would suggest you get all relevant certifications in your field before you start applying for the roles. The more the better if you are seriously looking for a career in Scotland or UK.

Glasgow from my first-hand experience has a lot of job opportunities in Scotland with all big MNCs having offices in the city centre. Scotland is a relatively safe and great place to live and work so many prefer Scotland over England.

Jobs in Scotland for foreigners with Visa sponsorship

If you are looking for a Visa Sponsored job in Scotland, then it’s better if you have some prior work experience in some tech field to even have some chances. For freshers, it might be a little difficult to obtain visa sponsorship but it is not impossible.

Jobs in Scotland for International Students

For international students, I have seen students doing part-time in food joints like Burger King, McDonalds, etc and also delivering food via Uber Eats. The process for McDonalds interview is very straight forward & you can get a job if you have the right skills.

University of glasgow

If you are graduating from a Scottish University then definitely you have a good chance of landing a job in the UK as you get a student visa (PSW) for a few years. I have seen students applying for jobs 6 months before the course end date to get an edge over others & the process might be time-consuming.

Also, do reach out to your seniors from previous batches & network with them regularly. Staying in touch might help you to get a referral to their company or you might be notified of a job opening.

Adding a UK degree adds a lot of value to your resume and you get a fair shot at going for jobs like other candidates. If your performance is good then your company might sponsor you based on the requirements & once your student visa expires.
